Thoughts

Remembering Auntie Angela.... Growing up alongside my 3 cousins with weekly weekend visits to the farm (my 2nd home)... Roaming around the farmyard and fields whilst Mum and Auntie drank tea and chatted... Boundless imaginative adventures... amongst the hay bales, the fields.. finding fun and games in every corner. Coming in for tea and watching Auntie build the fire... sending one of the girls up for milk... searching in the larder for food... all squashing round the table for plates of chips and sandwiches and homemade cake... Sitting round the fire, laughing and chatting.... Rushing upstairs after tea to play before Uncle John came in... (which signified turning the volume down and heading home!) Playing crocodiles jumping from bed to bed... Happy happy times with Auntie and Mum at the centre... knowing that Mum had Auntie during he very difficult times of her life. So much fun and joy filled with nature and laughter. As I grew older and moved to London, I always visited the farm whenever I could on my Cornwall visits. I will never forget my last conversation with Auntie on a visit a couple of weeks before she died. We'd said out goodbyes and Mum and gone to the car and for some reason I went back into the room to give Auntie a hug. She told me how proud she was of us all... her daughters, neices and all our children.... and how well we were all doing. I will treasure that moment forever. Goodbye dear Auntie. You and your family were a special part of our family and childhood when we needed you, helping to make sure it was filled with happiness. I enjoyed your company as an adult too and you will always hold a special place in my heart. All our love. Susie (and Darren, Dorothy and Ziggy) Xx
